Louis Vuitton winter 2012/13 and Marc Jacobs' train ride….
Um dia para entrar na historia da moda mundial e, principalmente, para quem teve a honra de assistir a apresentação magica que a Louis Vuitton fez nessa manhã gelada e úmida de Paris. Eram quase 9H30 quando eu cheguei na Cour Carree du Louvre, lugar onde, tradicionalmente, a Vuitton faz seus desfiles. Cheguei com pressa, paguei 25 euros por um táxi, já que o metrô quebrou e eu não podia perder de jeito nenhum o que seria uma viagem das mais emocionantes que vivi na moda até hoje.
A day that will mark the history of fashion in the world, and especially to those who were honored to watch the magic presentation that Luis Vuitton did during this cold and frigid morning in Paris. It was almost 9:30am when i arrived at Cour Carree du Louvre, the place where Vuitton usually has its fashion shows at. I was rushing, paid 25 euros in a cab, because the subway was down and i could not miss what would be one of the most beautiful trips I have ever lived in fashion.
Na chegada, a RP da Vuitton me disse " você não tem ideia do que vai acontecer aqui hoje". Realmente eu não tinha. Acho que ninguém depois de uma maratona de oito dias de desfiles ( fora as outras temporadas que fizemos em dois meses, eu contabilizo cinco....). A historia contada hoje pela marca remete a suas origens. Algo que obviamente não vivemos, mas lemos, vimos, ouvimos em algum momento de nossas vidas. A entrada do trem de verdade estarreceu a plateia e eu, juro!!!!, nem prestei muita atenção no detalhe da riqueza das roupas, em um primeiro momento.
Right at the entrance, the LV PR person told me "you have no idea of whats about to happen here today. And I really didn't. I think nobody did after this 8-day marathon of fashion shows (besides the other seasons we did in 2 months, I can remember 5…). The story told today by the brand goes back to its origins. Something that we obviously haven't lived, but we read about it, saw it, heard about it in some point of our lives. The trains appearance awed the audience, and me, I swear! I didn't even pay much attention to the richness and details of the clothes, at first.
Um filme, uma viagem onde, como diz a Marina Sprogis ( postando aqui do outro lado da sala) as mulheres não precisavam levar malas. Existiam carregadores. Depois olhando as modelos, passado o susto e a emoção inicial, comecei a ver a coleção. Rica como a Louis Vuitton sempre foi e é.
A movie, a trip where, like Marina Sprogis says (posting from the other side of the room), the women don't need to take luggage. They have someone to carry it for them. Later on, looking at the models, letting the feelings settle, I started to pay more attention to the collection. Rich, just like Louis Vuitton always was and still is.
Posto tudo meio sem começo meio e fim, porquê essas imagens falam mais que eu e também, mesmo que eu quisesse transmitir a emoção que sentimos no desfile de hoje, não conseguiria.
I am posting things without beginning or ends, because these images speak more than me, and also, even if I wanted to explain the emotion felt today at the fashion show, I don't think I would have been able to.
Mil matérias e posts pipocam na internet agora sobre esse momento genial da carreira de Marc Jacobs. Eu prefiro apenas dizer que foi lindo demais. Que tudo foi perfeito. Que é realmente a coisa mais linda que vi até hoje ( repetindo!!!) na minha experiência com a moda. Que Marc é um gênio. "Tatuado" como diz minha outra amiga no meu Twitter, Adelaide Oliveira.
So many articles now are coming up in the internet about this genius moment of Marc Jacobs' career. Id rather say it was wonderful. That it was perfect. That it really was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen during all these year in fashion. That Marc is genius! Tatted up too, as my twitter friend Adelaide Oliveira says.
Depois que tudo terminou, Marc voltou ao trem, de onde deu entrevistas e recebeu os merecidos parabéns. Quando entrou, eu estava na porta e ele passou quase raspando em mim. Me olhou nos olhos. Fiquei estarrecida. Ele é alguém sem pretensão. Lindo. "Congrats", largo eu de cima da minha timidez carregada de emoção e admiração.... After everything was ended, Marc returned to the train, from where he gave interviews and received congratulations. When he got in, I was by the door and he walked almost touching me. Looked me in the eyes. I paralyzed. He has no pretensions, beautiful. I say "congrats" from behind my shyness carried with admiration.
